For two decades, Abigail Tapang Zelenski has focused extensively on employment matters.  She has successfully represented clients in matters involving a wide variety of causes of action and provides effective representation to her clients.  Abigail is well-versed in wage-and-hour matters, such as claims for unpaid wages, unpaid overtime, missed meal and rest breaks, improper pay stubs, and misclassification issues, and matters involving harassment, discrimination, and wrongful termination.

Throughout her career, Abigail has been appointed as class counsel in over forty class actions involving various industries, including those in the motion-picture, security, healthcare, food, retail, and banking industries.

Abigail provides advice and counsel with respect to employment-law issues, including preparing and updating employment handbooks, policies, procedures, and separation documents.

Abigail has been selected as a Super Lawyer for twelve years in a row.  From 2019 through 2024, she was selected as a Southern California Super Lawyer, an honor given to only 5% of attorneys in California.  For the six previous years—2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018—she was recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star, a distinction given to no more than 2.5% of the lawyers in California.  Abigail was also recognized as a Top Attorney by Pasadena Magazine in 2014, 2015, 2019, 2021, and 2022.

Since 2019, Abigail has served as a Commissioner on the Los Angeles Civil Rights Commission.  In June 2023, Abigail was elected to serve as Chair of the Commission.  The Civil Rights Commission is tasked with investigating complaints of discrimination in Los Angeles, and works in close partnership with the Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department to hold businesses and individuals accountable for discriminatory practices that deny equal treatment to any individual in private employment, housing, education, or commerce.

Believing the importance of community involvement, Abigail was the past Vice President of the Board and a Board Member of the Filipino American Library and Filipino American Heritage Institute.  She previously served on the Governing Board of the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council.  Currently, she sits on the Board of Directors of the non-profit organization, Search to Involve Pilipino Americans (SIPA), which provides various services to youths, seniors, and small-business owners in the Greater Los Angeles community.

Abigail sits on the Board of Governors of the Philippine American Bar Association, where she served as President in 2021 and as Chair in 2022.   She also sits as a Board Member of the UCLA School of Law Alumni Association.

Abigail earned her J.D. at the UCLA School of Law.  She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Political Science and academic minors in Business Administration and Law & Society.
